Our First Hunt program teaches complete beginners to shoot, hunt, and clean their own dove in one guided evening — gear provided, no experience needed. Private wingshooting coaching, as well as rifle safety and marksmanship clinics available year-round. Taught by Marine Corps infantry veteran, Ben Christensen at Old Republic Ranch.

  • Already hunt? Book a walk-up dove hunting evening on our natural pass-shooting sendero during any Texas South Zone open season. We cap dove shooters at a 12-gun daily maximum. Or take a chance on a trophy “blue bull” nilgai on one of our day or night guided nilgai hunts.

  • Learning the art and leisure of fly fishing with your instructor, Ben Christensen. Ben will take the mystery—but not the mystique—out of fly fishing. Ben also offers guided fly fishing wades on the Pedernales and Llano Rivers. He knows ALL the Hill Country Rivers, so feel free to request availability farther afield from his home base in Johnson City, Texas.
